More on the GA Line in San Diego

At 8 a.m. PST, there were over 400 people already in line for GA. As of 9:30 PST, no word of wristbands yet. Word from folks in the GA line - this is the line for those who DON’T get into the egg.

M2 stepping in for a moment… — What seems to be happening is that fans’ tickets are being scanned by security on arrival, and based on that scan, fans are being sent to one of two lines. Perhaps it’ll be U2.com members getting into the egg? That’s how most bands do it — fan club members get the best “seats”.

M2 again, 11:25 am - a U2 spokesperson in San Diego tells us “Someone will go outside later on today and make an announcement as to how people will get into the ellipse.” That’s all we’ve been told officially.

More updates to come….

This is where I thought the GA lottery rules were lacking- if the lottery was being run the way Bruce’s was, there would be *no* need for early lines. (Bruce Springsteen’s lottery simply gave people wrist bands as they arrived. At 4pm Bruce security randomly picked a number from the wrist bands distributed. The person wearing that numbered band would be number one in line for entry. Everyone else simply lined up sequentially behind that number one. Eliminates the need for people to line up for a spot outside the egg.)

A somewhat related comment: as of 10:00am, I just pulled an EXCELLENT single seat for tonight off TM. I had one for tomorrow and fooled around too long and lost it.

It would appear they are still dropping singles.

Keep trying if you have been shut out. And, …see you tonight :)
