More on Bono & the (next) Pope…

Even TIME magazine is getting in on the act. They have an article in the new issue discussing “The Men Who Might Be Pope.” One of the names given is Cardinal Rodriguez Maradiaga, Archbishop of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. His brief profile says “… is passionate and telegenic. He could ably succeed John Paul as a high-profile Pope. Already he has campaigned for Third World debt relief alongside U2’s Bono.”

And then they have his photo in a separate part of the page, with a shorter brief below it that says “The Honduran is a linguist, a pilot and a pianist, and has already hung out with Bono.”

This is really getting out of hand … isn’t it?

It’s like knowing Bono is a prerequisite (or at least a requisite) for the papacy now.

No no, Maradiaga has to look good in fly shades, or failing that, gold lamé. JP2 raised the rock n’ roll bar in many ways.

    Can Maradiaga sing “40″?
