Opening Band

Kings of Leon -- they were joined by Eddie Vedder for their last song!

Set List

   1. City of Blinding Lights -- Adam plays the midi controller/keyboard during the intro then switched to the bass guitar
   2. Beautiful Day
   3. Vertigo -- alternate ending, similar to sunday bloody sunday arrangement (the song "ends" but comes back)
   4. Elevation -- Edge is the only one playing his instrument for 2 to 3 verses with Bono on vocals, then the band joined in and blew away the crowd
   5. Gloria -- Adam walks around the elipse
   6. The Ocean
   7. New Year's Day
   8. Miracle Drug -- this song was dedicated to science and how the Pacific Northwest is part of the driving force of the 21st century
   9. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own -- Bono got a kid from the audience to get up on the elipse and sing this song with him
  10. Love and Peace or Else -- Larry joins Bono at the tip of the elipse playing one tom and a couple of cymbals, near the end of the song, Larry walks back to his drum kit and Bono took over the tom
  11. Sunday Bloody Sunday -- the song was becomming a 10 minute sing along that Bono told Larry to "Get him outta here" in order to end the song
  12. Bullet the Blue Sky
  13. Running To Stand Still -- Edge is playing the piano, Bono is playing LEAD GUITAR!!!
  14. Bad
  15. Pride (In The Name Of Love) -- Bono got angry at Larry for upstaging his speech with a drum roll
  16. Where The Streets Have No Name -- Universal Declaration of Human Rights displayed and read on the screens

   2. The Fly
   3. Mysterious Ways

Encore 2

Sounds like a great night -- I have to admit I'd have been a little disappointed at the Vertigo closer rather than 40.

"Kings of Leon" were the opening band and they were joined by Eddie Vedder for their last song! Eddie brought two tamborines at the begining of the song but broke them so he kept throwing the broken tamborines to the crowd and one of the staff members kept bringing him new ones!

Tonight, for the first time in the tour, the band played "Vertigo" a second time for their closing song! I was waiting for "40" but this surprise ending was awesome. Bono was a little bit angry at Larry during "Pride/In the name of love" since Larry went ahead to do a drum roll that lifted the song up again instead of keeping it in the down low while Bono was doing his speech about Africa. This forced Bono to sing again... he was still able to do his full speech at the end of the song. Bill Gates' name flashed during the part where the names of those who text for Africa on the big screens. During "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own", Bono got a young boy to walk around the stage with him while he was singing -- it was a very touching part of the concert. On the Adam's side of the stage, one can see a sign language interpreter, interpreting the lyrics of the songs for deaf U2 fans.

The crowd was very LOUD!!!

Great to hear the updates on that second Seattle show, looks like m2 and co. had a great night.I would love to hear more about the Kings Of Leon and the guest appearance of Eddie veder.

The KOL seem to have been largely ignored by everyone. It's a pity, they are a great rock act
