I'll be on the floor, so maybe I'm biased, but the balcony at the Fleet Center (or whatever they're calling it these days) is really, really far away!!

Go for BOTH perspecitves over 2 shows if possible. I was lucky enough to be at the tip of the ellipse for two amazing shows at the United Center in Chicago (Chi 1 & 2). I was on the rail both shows (I camped out both nights, tent and all). It was amazing power both from the band AND the GA fans.
If you could only do ONE show, use your judgement. Others are correct that unless you're #75 or less in GA line, you could be standing behind people like me (6'2") for most/all the show. DON'T assume you'll make inside the ellipse -- too risky a move.
AFter looking up Bono's nostrils for 2 shows, it would be neat to see the whole stage from a little higher up. The pixel curtain is not too clean that close. Sure a DVD shows the "whole show" but even THAT'S no comparison to taking the whole thing in live.
I am *seriously* considering trading my St Louis GAs for good reserved seats. But then again I have been blessed with a multi-show experience.
Regardless, the dilemma of where to stand at a U2 show is better than the dilemma of not getting tix at all.

I'd get there early in the morning, get a good spot in the GA line, and then try to get GA tickets. I've been to shows on this tour on the floor and in seats, and being on the floor is really the only way to go. You get a better view of the entire production from farther back, but you can get that on the DVD. The floor, on the other hand, with the most dedicated of fans (presuming you're towards the front of the line and end up on or near the rail) is an experience no DVD can recreate.

I would definately take the GAs... one of the best experiences of my life was in the heart in '01... but if you get the tix and have a change of heart i am in the boston area and would gladly take them off your hands...! i am up in the balcony for the Tuesday show and would love to get down on the floor...
i also have a question... in the TD FleetNorth Pavillion Centrum Garden press release about the show they mentioned "pre-issued 'Priority Access' vouchers"... what in the world are those?

I would definitely upgrade to GA! GA is the ultimate experience and it is worth it. I have balcony seats for the 24th but would rather have GA. I guess when I see them on the 28th, I will go in line to get GA even though I have Loge seating.

The only good spot on the floor is the front row (front inside the ellipse, or on the rail outside of it), otherwise you've got heads of other people to look at all night. If you're willing to stand in line all day to be awarded front row-ness, then you're all set for the ultimate U2 experience. Otherwise, stick with the upper levels.

I haven't seen the show yet (going to all 3 Bostons next week!), but I think it would depend on whether this is your only time seeing it. As visual as it seems from the pix and video, if it were my only chance to see the show, I probably wouldn't upgrade. Those 2nd row balcony seats are actually pretty good, with a much better view than you'd get from many parts of the floor (except the ellipse, of course). But if you'll get that "overall" view on another night, go for the GA upgrade.
