Tour Debuts?
I’ve heard from countless U2 fans this morning about the quote on U2.com about last night’s show in Brussels: “Until The End of the World made its tour debut tonight…” - and with all of the resources at the fingertips of the staff writers for the official site, it pains me to let them know that actually, that song made its tour debut on May 12 in Chicago, and then it was played again a few more times before the end of the first leg.
Now, you could techincally argue the point that ALL songs performed made their tour debut last night for the 2nd leg of the tour…but it’s a leg - not a new tour.
Is asking for accuracy from the band’s official website too much to ask for?

It’s certainly not asking too much for U2.com to be accurate.
You’d think all those $40 payments would add up to hiring some talented folks to man the ship.
How disappointing!

Ain’t no big deal on my end; maybe the site writer was thinking in terms of 2 tours; indoor and outdoor….or maybe they (gasp) made a mistake
BTW, of all the fan sites I’ve seen, U2’s is still the best by far, so there might be some talented people aleady there; their audio/video content is awesome and trhe exclusive content is worth it

Joe -
You’re right about the content - I’m a proud payer of the $40/year for the access. My concern comes when you’re paying for content and you expect it to be correct.
It’s easy to point fingers and say “that’s wrong” if you don’t offer a solution to go along with it. My solution is to have U2.com’s staff consult their vast resources to confirm something before they put it out there for the world to read/see. @U2 and other sites hold themselves to that standard - and we don’t ask for money for exclusive content!
Not to mention, fan-based sites have a bit more flexibility in my opinion because we’re not tied to the corporate presense. We only know what we know - we’re not privvy to what’s really going on 95% of the time…but that’s not the case at U2.com. That’s why I pay for the content!
In this case, it was saying something was done for the first time…but there’s plenty of other instances that many fans in the online boards will be quick to point out that make us wonder why we’re paying more than we’ve ever done for this kind of content.

I definitely agree with that; but suggesting that they need “talented folks” might be a little harsh. I think some of these people have sweat blood to get this thing up and running…Having a fact-checker ain’t such a bad idea tho…certainly would give them a leg up on Fox News….I also LOVE @U2 BTW, if you are a staffer keep up the good work…sorry if I came off sarcastic, my wife and I had no problems accessing U2.com with our code to get tickets for the opening San Diego show and felt a little hurt with the mini-backlash…on a somewhat related note, check out rollingstones.com; 100 bucks for “platinum” membership and pre-sale access, some of the notes regarding refunds looks like they have been studying (copying) what U2 has hit and missed with so far
U2—-much better band, much better fansite value

Hi everyone! I’m new to all this, just had a quick question. I know the Vertigo tour just ended and I read on http://www.atu2.com tonight that Bono said they will be releasing a new album in 2007. Is that true? What did people think about shows you saw on the Vertigo tour? I saw Vertigo in Detroit with my g/f and we had a blast. It was probably the most fun I’d had seeing them since Popmart. Thanks guys!

Hi folks, i just wanna to say that i a huge U2 fan, i the U2 site should be free to everyone!!!
The money that we spend in that site is wrong…ya
We should give the money not for the site, but for the fondations sponserd by Bono…
Great music, amazing band and friendly lads like a true irish man…
