Here’s the WORST part - - - not only did I spend all day hoping for a GLIMPSE of something U2-ish besides “BD” (ya know, ’cause Bono’s been the voice of this issue ALL ALONG, and you’d think they’d show “ONE” for crying out loud!!) - - the mtv. (or was it vh1?) website was selling white wristbands for $2.99 that say “Make Poverty History” and have 7/2/05 on them - - - but they are NOT “ONE” wristbands. The money does not support The One Campaign. There was an note that said $1.00 from the sale of each wristband would go to help (the name of a children’s organization, but I can’t remember the name, I was too incensed) - - so all of these people watching the show and seeing their favorite artists wearing white bands may not realize that the OFFICIAL white bands are from http://www.one.org. THAT IS SO WRONG!!!!!!! I didn’t see the wristbands for sale on those sites today, but I did see it listed on Saturday morning.

I wish someone would come out with a REAL music station in the U.S. I am tired of wishing I lived in EUROPE!!!!!!

Usually,I have great hatred of AOL but aolmusic.com was awesome today. I watched most of the morning feed and bits and pieces of the afternoon. Obvious highlights were U2 walking on stage like they never ever thuoght that they would be on stage and playing with Beatle and Coldplay playing backing band to Richard Ashcroft’s Bitter sweet Symphony.

They are rebroadcasting the lot of the cities. Oh, no need to be a member either.

I think Linkin Park got the most on-air songs. I should have expected this from MTV, but it was neither less disappointing nor easier on the ears.

AOL was good - even caught most of U2 doing One, when they showed it in Philly. Saw Roxy Music (excellent), Stevie Wonder, The Who, some of Sting. Wish I had checked it out sooner (like 3 am here on the west coast). The DVD should be great - hope it doesn’t cost too much - if most of the money goes to “make poverty history”, I’ll come up with it.

MTV and VH1 have no business being on television anymore. They suck so bad. How can they cut off Madonna, and more importantly, how can they cut off Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb?????????? Do they have any idea how big a moment that was for music lovers?????

sorry to hear it for you guys, truly. by all accounts, AOL, VH1 & MTV are sucking bigtime here & elsewhere. Isn’t NBC TV showing anything? ( No NBC coverage in canada here, though we get NBC.)

Wow…we got 2/3 of Won’t Get Fooled Again…and nothing else while those IDIOTS blabber on about how great it is!

Most of Pink Floyd…I knew they wouldn’t show it all…and of course they didn’t.

What a waste…I’m sure MTV and VH1 are donating all proceeds from the endless commercials…oh yeah, when pigs fly!

Still, I was amazed they let Floyd go as long as they did without cutting away or blabbing over it.

Sigh.

One of the biggest music things to happen in a looooooong time, and I can’t even see the whole thing because of Empty Vee.

I know! to say what?! Ugh, at least they went back, but the moment was still ruined. I was surprised they showed as much as they did though.
