Word ’round the campfire is that a cartoon version of Bono will appear in the upcoming Family Guy movie, a.k.a. Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. Someone else will provide the voice, though. No idea what cartoon Bono will be doing in the movie, either. How’s that for vague?
Information on the movie is here.
(…and as much as I hate to boast, and as much as I love Family Guy, I think my Li’l U2 Bono is marginally cuter than Family Guy Bono.)

A reminder popped up on my calendar to investigate renewing my U2.com membership for the next year. I usually have these in my scheduler a full 3 months in advance because it’ll remind me to do it.
I was then checking out Ticketmaster to see if there were any Rolling Stones tickets available for their opening night at Fenway Park in Boston (if *only* U2 would play there!), and I see:
“***FREE ROLLING STONES VIRTUAL TICKET FAN CLUB MEMBERSHIP INCLUDED WITH EVERY ROLLING STONES TICKET YOU ORDER THROUGH TICKETMASTER!A Rolling Stones Official Fan Club Virtual Ticket Membership is included with each concert ticket for this tour you order through Ticketmaster. We will send your name and contact information to RollingStones.com so they can activate your membership and send you a welcome email with log-in instructions, and additional emails. ”
So, this got me thinking….U2 are planning on continuing their tour into 2006. Will they offer the same pre-order tickets for those shows as they have for the first 3 legs? Could they throw fans a bone and do what the Stones are doing with their tickets and offer the fan club membership for free? Will they still charge $40/year for the access rights for their fanclub?
There hasn’t been any marketing to current subscribers to U2.com about renewals and any benefits they’d get for renewing their membership. So, I thought I’d do an unscientific poll among the @U2 blog readers - if you’re a member of U2.com, do you plan on renewing, and why?

Found these “Bono” cookies on Flickr and had to ask our friend Leticia about them. She says:
“This is a kind of cookie/biscuit and they’re good ones, hehe. Very popular in Brazil. I do not know if Nestle sell it in other countries. I just know the name is just a mere coincidence with Bono and they begun to sell it 10-15 years ago.”
Who knew? Thx Leticia!

Yes, that’s what Ticketmaster is saying…”SORRY U2 tickets in Chicago are sold out. However, fans looking for tickets might be interested in attending the St. Louis performance on December 14th.” - http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/04003A529F4525ED?artistid=736365&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=1
The same wording is found on both Chicago U2 ticket sales pages. The wording is not found on the Chicago Parking sales pages on Ticketmaster.
However, if you were to try for tickets for St. Louis through TM, you’ll find that there aren’t any tickets to be had.
Someone was able to pull Chicago tickets on Ticketmaster a day or so ago, which means that the drop of any spare tickets should be happening soon for the third leg. My best advice is to keep checking back Ticketmaster as they can drop at anytime and when they do, they go quickly. Good luck if you’re still looking for tickets for the third leg!

I just received in my in-box an email from Four5One Creative promoting that they still have soft-covered editions of their Stealing Hearts at a Traveling Show for the low-low price of 25-Euro / 17-STG / 32-dollars plus post and packaging.
The books are even signed by Steve Averill and Shaughn McGrath! To order yours, visit: http://www.four5one.ie/shop/. You can also watch an interview with Steve and Shaughn from the site as well.
If this all sounds familiar, Shaughn McGrath spoke to U2 fans at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when their work was exhibited back in 2003. To read more about it, check out the @U2 story here.
This is a *must have* book for any U2 fan as it traces the artwork and design of the band over the course of 20 years, and is written by those responsible for it all.

This is one of about 8-10 really great shots I could’ve chosen to send to the blog from Flickr user discreet.music, AKA Elizabeth G.
In addition to this XCU (extreme closeup) of Bono, there are some crystal-clear shots of Edge and Adam, too. Have your mouse ready to click “Add to Faves” as you go.
Oh, and someone please nominate some of these for the @U2 Fan Concert Photo contest.
Here’s the link to @U2’s Flickr Pool.
