Reminder: send in your addresses for the U2 Fan Christmas Card Exchange!

The deadline is December 1st, the email address to write to is U2christmas (at) gmail.com. We’ve heard from every inhabited continent already; would love especially to hear from more fans from South America, Asia, and Africa (got a good contingent of North Americans, Europeans and Aussies!). The full announcement is still on @U2’s front page. Here’s what Jeff E. from Iowa had to say on the subject:

Just hear those sleigh bells jing-aling, ring-ting-ting-aling too
Come on it’s lovely weather for card swap with fans of U2

The ellipse is rocking and the crowd is singing woo hoo
Come on it’s lovely weather for card swap with fans of U2

Write ‘em up, write ‘em up, write ‘em up, let’s go
Let’s sing Vertigo
We’re writin’ cards to people we don’t even know

Write ‘em up, write ‘em up, write ‘em up it’s grand
Chattin’ ’bout the band
We’re braggin’ bout all those times the DVD showed our hand

Our families are all so sick of the shows we tivo’d on TV
We had to promise mom Christmas dinner would be U2-free

Let’s celebrate our band and share a story or two
Come on it’s lovely weather for a card swap with fans of U2

There’s GA line and it’s friggin’ cold but we’re ok
The show’ll be the perfect ending of the perfect day

We’ll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single stop
But first Kanye West grabs ahold of the mic and raps hip hop
What?! Hip-Hop?!

There’s a happy feeling nothing in the world can buy
When the crowd roars and you catch the boys with your own two eyes

The band’ll play 2 hours but sadly how the time will fly
These wonderful things are the things we remember all through our lives

This is the funniest thing I have ever read. Well, maybe not THE funniest, but right up there in the top five funny things that by tomorrow morning I will have forgotten because U2 has made my brain mush, and I retain nothing more than lyrics, setlists, and off-the-wall trivia.

    Happy Christmas!
