Virtual U2
I’ll wite this carefully because I don’t claim to fully understand what all is involved… but apparently a user(s) of the virtual world system Second Life recently created (and re-created) a U2 concert inside the game/world.
The “concert” involved user-made likenesses of the band, the stage, merchandise stands, etc. — all fairly realistic, with one exception: only 50 other Second Life users showed up for the gig!
There might be some potential legal issues involved since the “concert” involved a replay of U2’s actual show (the audio) from December 4, 2005, in Boston. I don’t post this here to make any statement on that part of the situation, only to point out something that looks pretty cool.
You can see more photos and read about the virtual concert at Brands In Games.

Wow great screenshots and article! Thanks for posting! It’ll never replace the real concerts but looks kinda fun!
Interesting about the legalities of advertising, usage & corporate sponsorship issues. Still, it’s a very interesting & creative project & the SL U2 look pretty darned realistic! And just the thought of being one of 50 at a real U2 concert, gives me the chills! Never in a million years, huh?! Dream outloud!

i actually made likenesses of all four members of U2 on my Sims game. Bono and Edge live together and Adam and Larry live together and they are all friends. They even play the guitar and piano…
