Thanks Tom for Tomorrow

One of U2’s very first television appearances in the United States was on the NBC late night program “The Tomorrow Show” hosted by Tom Snyder. Word came out today that Tom passed away at the age of 71 from complications due to leukemia.

He had a great sense of humor and got what U2 was about at the very beginning. Check out their visit with Tom a few decades ago:

    Thanks so much for posting. I always wanted to see this and couldn’t find it. Tom Snyder was a real original.

    Yes, Tom will be missed….I already missed seeing him on TV, he was a real original and carried himself with a gentlemanly grace that’s seldom seen today.

    NBC Nightly News showed a clip of this interview with Tom interviewing barely post-pubescent Bono and The Edge. Nice hair.
