after a couple months with not a peep from u2oons on the blog, here is my long delayed entry: tall and skinny (i know it is cruel and rude to Mr. Bono, but — hey! — dare i say there’s a bit of truth to it, and at least lola cashman will giggle).
as for the absence? three reasons:
one: my computer died several months ago.
two: i work and live on a ship that hung around alaska a bunch — made it tough to pop on in to a computer store.
three: after five months straight on the ship, i took a three week vacation.
now i am back on the ship, with a working computer, refreshed, and as long as my u2oons idea list stays populated, expect a u2oon weekly, if not often (barring any unexpected personal circumstance).
Great ‘toon and rather a propos for recent times. What do you do on a ship? Are you one of those crazy crab fishermen on Deadliest Catch? That would be SO cool!
nope. i’m not on the deadliest catch show. i work for NOAA as a hydrographer. i map the coastline and bottom of the ocean of alaska using fancy sonar gear. we update nautical charts, and every so often discover ship wrecks, too.
i’ll be in victoria in a month or so. i don’t know if that’s near campbell river. that part of the world is a great place, though. hope to see you around.
What the great job! Thank you for that I was really amused. Bono is very great person and I impressed about him and what he doing. Thank you for this site, it’s very incredible!

Awwww, Bono. You forgot that he also tried by cutting his hair. At least it seemed to help with his voice.

Say, Ian, if you’re ever at the fuel dock in Campbell River (east coast of Vancouver Island) in the next couple months, stop in and say hi to me!
