This message is for Bono!!
Hi there,

My 14 year old daughter, Caelan Just organized a raffle at her highschool to help raise funds for the "Adopt A Village Clean Water & Sanitation Program", whose mission is to install wells and other clean water sanitation systems in developing countries such as China, Kenya, Sierra Leon and areas in Sri Lank affected by the Tsunami. I know that you are constantly trying to get governments involved in donating money to poorer countries of the world and I was thinking that you might have better luck in changing things by going directly to the heart of the people. Governments don't have hearts, but people do! And children most certainly do. What is greater than that, "Kidz Helping Kidz"??

My daughter's school came together and raised $600.00 for the cause. My other two daughters, Dylan and Broughan raised another $150 at their tiny elementary school. Granted this is not alot of money, but if we could multiply this amount by 1000 or 10000 we could be talking serious money, which could buy a water pump which could supply an entire village in lets say Kenya.

I was thinking that with your great compassion and your tremendous influence with the people you might be able to rise the people/children to the occasion, by making a pitch to the school boards in richer countries to reach out and really help change the world. If we did annual fundraisers in the schools, we could raise alot of money, and one pump costs approximately $5000 US dollars. A little effort could really make a huge difference for those who cannot help themselves. Clean water is so taken for granted here in Canada, but to these poor people it is a distant dream. We could possibly change the world one pump at a time.

Just some food for thought. Cynthia Costigan
