Bono speaks about lost friend Pavarotti

The BBC Radio 4 programme PM interviewed Bono yesterday about his experiences with the recently deceased tenor Pavarotti. You can listen again here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the link on the right that says ‘Full list of programmes available to listen again.’ All the programmes available will then come up in alphabetical order. Scroll down to the P section and click the ‘listen’ link under ‘PM.’ The show is an hour long, so you’ll have to fast-forward to get to Bono’s segment, which starts at 00:45:40. Be quick though, as it’ll only be on the server until 12:00 pm today (EST).

Even more Walrus……for good!

I’m not sure if Empire magazine has much circulation outside of the UK, but seeing as it’s the most widely read film magazine in Britain, the fact that it has given Across the Universe a good rating must surely mean something. The full review, which mentions Bono’s appearance, can be found here:

I’m very enthusiastic about this film; afterall, how much better can you get than a combination of Bono and Beatles songs?

Scattered Thoughts: More of the Walrus

First came the movie preview and Bono interview on the television show Extra, now here’s a one-minute clip of our man performing I Am The Walrus from the soon-to-be-released movie Across the Universe.

Quite a colorful performance, eh? I thought he was going to lose his moustache there for a second. Nice save B-Man.

Seriously (or not seriously), what do you guys think of the Walrus?

Who’s Got an Extra $5k?

Paul’s old carThat’s all it costs, at least right now, to buy a 1996 Range Rover that used to belong to Paul McGuinness. Nice!

See the auction on eBay.

Thx to Zach G. on the Exit mailing list for the link.

(I’m proud of myself for avoiding the clichéd references to “Daddy’s Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car” and “Fast Cars” in the headline of this post, not to mention something really cheesy like “U 2 Can Own Paul’s Old Car.” Not that the one I chose is great, but at least it’s not dripping with cheese….)
