So does this mean that Bono isn’t full of crap anymore?

No, it can’t have been the first time. I’m sure they’ve made snarky, off-topic, left-handed comments about him before. Probably funny ones, too.

I love this show (and I’ve been kind of looking forward to them taking a shot at Bono actually) but this definitely wasn’t their funniest clip. I would have enjoyed a fight between Bon-zilla and Mecha-Streisand or something.
I can’t think of any episode that mentions Bono, but I did read an interview with Trey Parker where he regretted the show was on hiatus during Live 8 because he thought the whole thing was a goldmine of stuff to parody…

I watch South Park religiously, but this was one of their least funny episodes. The overall theme of this show was pretty lame, but I did like the intro/conclusion of Bono’s message, lol. Last week’s show where Cartman pretended he had Tourrette’s was HILARIOUS!

I liked that part, I LOLed for a bit. It’s so funny cos it’s not true at all! I do understand it if he comes across like that to some people. But the most important is it’s not like that IRL.

Well, I think they could have come up with something better.

I thought it was brilliant, he was asking for it, he’s been asking beggin to be parodied on SP since the How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb days, I wish it could teach him a lesson to focus more on music and less on feces like hanging out with Beyonce and Jay-Z, u dont see a Thom Yorke having photo ops with everyone in the planet, u see Thom Yorke working hard on musik and just getting really angry on the issues thru music….
I really wish this episode could teach Bono a lesson, so he can go and look himself on a mirror and ask himself: I am a joke now? … I should spend more time on muzik and stop talking about the “celebrity currency” BS… my 2 cents.

Well, actually, South Park kind of portrayed Thom Yorke as stand-offish and cruel in that episode where Cartman is feuding with a Radiohead fan… So apparently Thom Yorke isn’t above being a joke too, though the South Park people didn’t lampoon him as much as they did Bono.

I have to say, Trey and Matt are a bit ‘hit & miss’ on this one…
Sure, Bono does say and do a lot of things that we sometimes cringe at, and can quite legitimately be labelled ‘crap’. But unfortunately, it’s always harder to open people’s eyes to the fact that if it takes a rock star to bring the world’s attention to these issues, then surely we all have to shoulder a bit of the blame in being ignorant/not understanding the real issues (that includes politicians!).
I’m still stunned that so many of my friends think that the only way to solve poverty is to throw money at it. In an ideal world, everyone would appreciate the work that B has put in educating himself about the real issues and solutions, and the way he has gone about surrounding himself with people who can give him an audience with the people who can ‘make or break’ extreme poverty.
But hey, we all know this world is far from ideal… so when things like this happen, rather than take it personally, the best thing we can do is have a laugh

I’ve never laughed so hard at SP before, especially at the “photo” of Bono presenting his record-breaking crap, or him prancing around Africa when he answers his phone. Trey & Matt knew it wasn’t their best episode; three times they put, “EMMY AWARD-WINNING SHOW” at the bottom of the screen and each was brilliantly timed.
“Don’t call me NUMBER TWO!!!”

Bono IS crap!
No doubt about that.
Great episode!
