U2oons | Bono’s brain

    When I took this job as the U2ooner, there was a promise that it would be a weekly strip. However, time has proven it much more of a bi-monthly event. Of which is a shame, because I rather like U2oons, and would love to see them once a week, too.

    Ironically, U2oons are partly to blame for my failed promise. I’ve long learned that I can draw one nice thing a week. When I signed on for U2oons I had plenty of time for this, and for the first couple of months it worked out pretty well.

    Then something unexpected happened. Folks — who partly found out about me through U2oons — began asking me to draw them things. Very flattering! I was invited to part of an exhibit at the Fairbanks Art Museum, and — whoosh! — there went five cartoons! And then the trade publication where I work, Hydro Geek, asked for some cartoons, and — whoosh! — there went four cartoons! The I had a crush on a girl and — whamo! — there went 10 pictures! Then my seal biologist friend asked me to illustrate his presentation — whoosh! — four pictures, and finally, I was asked to draw something commemorating my ship’s 2007 field season — and BAMO! — another big picture!

    So please know that my skimping out on U2oons is not from a lack of drawing. To the contrary, I’ve been drawing more than I should! And it is to U2oons that I am very thankful.

    With that said, this posting of U2oons | Bono’s brain is a repeat from the series I drew back in 2005 for the ‘You draw Achtoon Baby contest.’ I was told it was funny back then, and I hope it’s still funny now.

    The next U2oon, however, will be a fresh one.

    I thought that U2oon looked familiar, lol. It is one of my favorites! Loved the three others too, and I can’t wait to see a fresh U2oon.

    I missed it last time around. It’s funny how “making awesome music” looks like the state of Ohio.
