Bono on Helms on TV
Bono shows up Tuesday night in a documentary airing on North Carolina public TV called Senator No. It’s about former Senator Jesse Helms, and Bono talks about gaining the Senator’s support to fight AIDS and poverty in Africa. That’s sweet. Looking back, that meeting with Helms marked the beginning of Bono’s success with the politicos in DC. Helms gave Bono a real boost in his lobbying efforts. One of the oddest odd couples of all-time, I’d say!
