Sparky’s Re-a-reiki-ning

Saw this on Asiatraveltips.com:

The Trisara, an exclusive spa resort in Phuket, has partnered with a group of gifted Phuket-based therapists to offer a broad menu of holistic solutions for physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Available by appointment, therapists include a reiki guru to celebrities including Madonna and U2’s Adam Clayton, and neuro-muscular workouts from the consultant to Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France cycling team.

I think this is the first time I’ve seen Adam being used to promote a tourism destination (other than Ireland).

Adam Clayton, Journalist

While Bono’s been off in Japan and Edge was playing auctioneer, the bassist has been taking a stab at Journalist.

Adam recently interviewed fellow Principle Management artist Paddy Casey about Casey’s new album. It was either a very short interview, or only some of it was posted online. Either way, you can read it on iLike:

How Should I Enjoy U2 3D?

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, and I wanted to see what y’all were gonna do. (Not that if y’all were going to jump off the London Bridge, I’d join you…if you catch my drift.)

You know how to act at a U2 concert - but what do you do in the theater? Do you follow theater etiquette, or do you enjoy your fandom and let loose?

There’s a part of me who wants to stand and dance, and sing along (although, with 12,000 watts of digital surround sound coming through 44 speakers, I’m sure I’ll be drowned out). Yet, i don’t want to be considered disruptive and end up being thrown out of the theater.

What to do?

How do you plan on enjoying the film? And seriously - how many times are you planning on seeing it when it comes to your area? Will it turn into a Rocky Horror situation where people do certain things at certain points of the film?

Perhaps I’m behind the times a bit, but I’ve only just realized there’s some really cool photos available through www.imdb.com. For example, there’s a nice slideshow from the 2007 Food Bank of New York Can-Do Awards Dinner on April 23.

There’s also some photos from the Music Rising “Icons of Music” auction from April 21. Adam looks particulary suave in his shades of gray attire. Notice that Edge looks just as thrilled to be stood next to Christy Turlington at the auction as he was to be with Jimmy Fallon and Steve Schirripa. Come to think of it, based on the variety of photos available here, it looks like Edge only has one style of smile!

Spitting Image

(I couldn’t resist the title. For those of you who are relatively new fans - Adam Clayton was once engaged to Naomi in the early 1990s.)

This from today’s Boston Herald:

Security guard spit on in another Naomi spat
By Inside TrackMonday, April 3, 2006 - Updated: 11:34 AM EST

Just months before her latest arrest, Naomi Campbell unleashed her world-famous temper on Madison Square Garden staff and spat in a security guard’s face, reports the New York Daily News.

The moody mannequin had perched herself upon a barrier during a U2 concert in October, and blew a fuse when a security guard asked her to kindly climb down.

“Campbell told the security officer that she was not going to get down and that he was a (expletive) (expletive),” a source told the News. “She then spat in the officer’s face.”

Not exactly model behavior for the world-peace-preaching band’s performance!

According to the source, the abuse was witnessed by two other security guards, and a senior Garden official was called in to intervene.

“(The official) explained to her that it is against Garden policy and the policy of the band’s security to sit on the barrier railing,” said the spy. After another heated exchange, the official threatened Campbell with ejection from the venue.

Attending the concert as a personal guest of Bono - the lead singer of the Irish rock band - “she replied that she would like to see that,” reports the onlooker.

The 35-year-old Britain-born beauty was not kicked out but the source said the guard filed a harassment complaint with cops.

Unfortunately, the case was closed without investigation because Campbell’s actions were considered more rude than harassing.

The cantankerous catwalker was cuffed Thursday for allegedly bashing her housekeeper’s head in with a crystal-encrusted Blackberry after accusing the maid of stealing a pair of $200 designer jeans from her Park Avenue penthouse.

The housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, 42, needed four stitches to mend the wound on the back of her head, according to police.

Scolavino’s lawyer has said that Campbell tried to cover up the incident by demanding the maid not go to the hospital.

Campbell is currently in South Africa, joining former President Nelson Mandela in promoting a children’s charity.

It’s actually one of about two dozen terrific photos by br1 taken in New Jersey last week.

And while you’re browsing around our Flickr Group, don’t miss recent uploads from onelouder, ozmodiar, and tinkertart’s new “Vertigo belt.” Nice.
