Generally, I like this a lot; however, may I suggest a few modifications that may preserve some of the elements other readers are "missing"? There are only two musical elements that are missing in your edit from the orginal mix that I think reperesent the passion of the song: 1) the final cymbal crash before the start ofthe lyric (:48 seconds), and 2) the final guitar solo. I understand that you probably had to edit out the cymbal crash because it bled in to the lyric, and without a master tape you could not overcome this. The second guitar solo, Daniel Lanois' most significant contribution to the song (followed by the now edited out "stations of the Cross" lyric) is to me the final empassioned plea and simply should not be excised. Doing so eliminates the actual "moment" of surrender. Otherwise the way you've condensed the end of the song is good. Sonically, the increased speed works and may garner more attention from radio -though the Lbum version is getting airplay in Chicago. I would only recommend using slightly less echo/processing on Bono's voice in the first half of the song. It's too Zoo Station-ish (not a bad thing, just a bit too much). The vocal processing in the second half of the song, again, leads the listener to the "moment" of surrender, the assension of the spirit, completed with the final strum of the guitar at the end of the track.

Exceptional job on the video, too.

Great fan video. I don't like the edit though. Speeding it up loses some of the feel/groove of the song, and truthfully, there is no such thing as 5:41 radio edit. U2 will either do a more severe edit (cut out the solo and the intro, and a verse or two to get it under 4 minutes) or just send out the album version, a la "Hey Jude" and "Champagne Supernova."
