Imagine all the people…

… filling Dublin’s Croke Park underneath U2’s 360 Tour stage. Here’s what it might look like:

This is from a U2tour.de article (in German) that talks about the stage design and shows several different versions, including how it evolved from original ideas started years ago.

If you click through to visit U2tour.de, you’ll find this image and can click it to see an even larger — and very cool — version of what the stage might look like inside Dublin’s cavernous Croke Park.

Wow, now that gives better context! It definitely makes me think that I have to reconsider keeping my GA’s and selling my seats! :-P

Wow , that looks huge! It appears that my seat at the Rogers Stadium in th elower 100’s will still be far away. Then again , it will depend on how and where the stage is actually set up. In tha picture it looks like Croke park is longer that wider . It could just be the picture .I t ouwld be nice if we could see the actual set up for each show. If it looks like this then when they come to Montreal at the Big O ,it shoudl be awesome !

Ash, if you look at that illustration, it’s pretty clear, to me, that they can walk straight back and get on the outer ramp. It’s still not clear if the stage will turn, but the fact that it’s a different color than the back section leads me to believe that it will turn. That would make a lot of sense, given that seats “behind” the stage are 250.00.

KC, look closer, because if it is true what you are saying, then the crowd will not be able to enter the circle, because the walkway to the outer walkway will block it off.

ash, I’m not sure I understand what you are. why can’t the entrance(s) be under the outer ring?

I’m on a phone so close examination isn’t possible, but I thought saw extensions from the front legs that would divide the inner circle into 3 or 4 sections

Folks, I can’t read German, but I’m pretty sure that photo is a speculative approximation(!) of what the new stage MIGHT look like at Croke. All they did was take a frame from the u2.com stage animation and superimpose it on a photo of the stadium, added a ton of people, and voila! So in my opinion, you’re taking it too far if you’re trying to figure out band member movements, exact fan sightlines, etc from this.
