Director Catherine Owens and the band are adamant that U23D will never be released in any format other than 3D. So until widespread home video supports 3D (which actually might not be more than a few years away), the cinema is the only venue where you can experience U23D. And frankly, without the 3D, it's not much different than the abbreviated Milan DVD, IMHO - the 3D is what makes it so jaw-dropping. Not sure where you live, but U23D is still playing some IMAX theaters - Saturday night shows at the New England Aquarium in Boston, for instance.
