Wow, it’s weird to finally hear a good quality clip of the song after listening to the beach clip so much.

I too am not thrilled about the broadway show. I hope the music gets out there as U2 versions though. It would be bad if when the music finally did get a release, it was a cast recording or some crap.

I’m not excited about them doing Broadway…The tunes from the Beach Clips are good- especially # 4 (All My Life)…hate to see good music get overshadowed by an ill-advised project if that’s what the music was written for. Damn, clip #4 is gorgeous…please don’t let that be for Spider Man

Peter Parker is one of my idols, along with Bono and the rest of U2. Spider-man is my most favorite superhero. I have 18 years of Spidey comics (since I was 5) in storage and I’m still collecting. I have everything U2 has made and have seen every tour since I was 6 years old. I couldn’t be more excited about a rock musical from my favorite band about my man Spidey. And they said there’s absolutely no singing in tights. Peter Pan, if I remember correctly, was a lot of fun to me as a kid. It’s gonna be a similar sense of wide-eyed wonder that I’m gonna be looking for, and if U2′s good at one thing, it’s wide-eyed wonder, not to mention grandeur and simplicity. The RollingStone article from last year was all I needed to year (from the musical aspect) to have me prepared to buy preview tickets. This song clinches it for me.

And who knows? The project can only either sink or swing. There’s NO middle ground, hah hah.

Writing songs for a musical about Spiderman is not the weirdest thing U2 has ever done.
I don’t care where this song is from, I just hope they release it…I LOVE the melody!

i agree that the thought of them scoring a musical seems odd at first, but: they’re artists and are entitled to take their music in whatever direction they like; the musicals thing worked okay for elton john; AND the last time i rolled my eyes at a musical, it was the lord of the rings production (singing hobbits? really?!?) but then i went to toronto and saw it – it was really amazing! so, all that said, and out of respect for bono & edge, i’m withholding judgement…
