Original Of The Species Video
After being a fan for 20+ years, there are days when I feel like I’ve fallen off the wagon. This morning, I stumbled upon a different video for Original of the Species. Perhaps I was living under a 400-year-old rock and that would explain why I never saw it…or it could be because American music video stations wouldn’t broadcast this version. After watching it, I would agree that the version we’ve all grown to know and love is the better of the two out there.
All I can say is that if I were to look down at my pregnant belly and see a floating Bono head, I’d ask to be committed because there’s something incredibly wrong about that. All I can think of is Andy Dick on “The Ben Stiller Show” telling me to “relax.”

Interesting, I don’t think that I’ve seen that video either. It’s not the greatest, but it’s kind of cool how they have the two Bonos singing over each other.
Just beware of the popups; Firefox prevented 265 popups from popping up during the video. That’s like one a second!
This version of OOTS is know as the “Killahurtz Casa De Angeles Mix” and was available for a very limited time as a digital download from a UK music source between the end of the Vertigo tour and the release of U2:3D. It’s also generally considered to be better than the album version of the song (to which I agree).
This version was available on iTunes shortly after the original version came out. I have both. The first version is a lot more artistic, but I like the mix better on the second one. That said, it’s not one of my favorites from HTDAAB.
i saw the version you’re talking about and i agree that the one that was released is better.
