Mike from The Pixar Blog shared yesterday that he thinks Bono and maybe The Edge could be creating songs for an upcoming Pixar project.
He cites “new information” as his catalyst for writing the post, and refuses to share his resources, but calls the possibility “reasonably solid.”

“Brave” is Pixar’s internal name for their planned winter 2011 feature “The Bear and the Bow,” which is billed as the studio’s first fairy tale. The film is apparently centered around a “brave” Scottish Princess Merida, voiced by Reese Witherspoon.

Also, wondering if Larry’s verbally explicit “three bears” joke, from an RTE radio interview in the late 1980s might make it into the film…?
The joke goes something like this:
“Mama bear says, somebody’s eating my porridge…
Daddy bear says, somebody’s been eating my porridge…
Baby bear says, “eff” the porridge; someone’s lifted the VCR!”
That would be really cool! It would be even better if they did some voice acting. I’ve always thought that Bono would make a good voice for a cartoon character and Edge would, too. And who better to work with than Pixar?
No offense but they should stick to singing. Voices…uhhhh
R: I’ve always thought Bono was an excellent candidate for voice over work because his voice is so distinctive.
Shade: I have trouble understanding how anyone who is a fan of U2′s singing wouldn’t think they’d make effective spoken word voices. Doesn’t make sense to me.
