In addition to posting the Bono talkie/singing video for Wave of Sorrow on U2.com, the band also sent it out “virally” this week to users of iLike on Facebook. Très hip.
There’s so much U2 goodness floating around the internetz right now. If you *somehow* tire of listening to the clips of the new/old/unreleased songs from the upcoming JT release here, there’s always that new Bono and Stevie Wonder duet that you can listen to here.
There are also some interesting U2 covers floating around right now. You may have already heard the Saul Williams version of Sunday Bloody Sunday, but there’s also an interesting one from singer/songwriter WAZ, whose acoustic take on I Will Follow puts a new spin on the song. Listen to WAZ’s version of I Will Follow here.
Finally, here’s a little U2, Spiderman gossip for you…

I’m loving the WAZ version of I Will Follow.
There is a video as well..shot in Windmill Lanes (the studio where U2 recorded it). I’ve heard that WAZ hasn’t been able to get his cover or the video in front of U2. I hope they hear it.
check out the video…

I love reading the Spiderman gossip. But here’s something to consider: a Broadway musical is a LOT of work, especially in the four months leading up to the opening. The songwriters need to be on the scene for rehearsals and pre-Broadway tryouts, because songs get re-written, thrown out, new ones go in. Great news for Bono and Edge sightings in NYC (and maybe Chicago and Boston…)
Young Frank, by all accounts, is a stinker, so the theater will probably be available sooner than the Spidey producers expected. Say that’s next fall, if they want the show to open by Christmas, or a year from spring, if they want to make the big tourist season. But wouldn’t U2 have things on its plate around those times, like a new album and maybe the start of a tour?
col!
I love that iLike video; it was a nice little treat to log into my facebook yesterday and find that gem!
