Scattered Thoughts: Pride, Part 2

A while back, we posted a video clip of John Legend covering Pride (In the Name of Love). The comments got a little comically out of control. Seriously (see here).

Anyway … last night at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel played a concert in support of Barack Obama (tickets cost between $500 – $25,000). Immediately when the concert started, I received a text from a fellow fan of both Mr. S and Mr. B (as they are sometimes referred to in geek speak), alerting me that there was a rumor that Mr. B (aka Bono) was there, too. Of course, we can all assume that non-partial Bono *wouldn’t* be there. And indeed, he was not there. (Apparently he is on the West Coast). But that doesn’t mean his song couldn’t be in NYC.

One of the other artists on the Obama concert bill was John Legend and he opened the night by playing … Pride (In the Name of Love).

Here’s a fan-shot video of John Legend performing Pride  last night at Hammerstein.
