Scattered Thoughts: Well, that was fast …

There’s already an audio rip up on YouTube of the U2 footage from the new Daniel Lanois documentary “Here Is What Is.” It’s hidden camera/bootleg/taper quality, but you can hear the jam really get going about one-minute in.

You can see and hear (in better quality) some U2 footage from the film in this Canadian television interview with Lanois. The U2 part shows up about half way in.

This is a quote from Lanois in the above interview clip: “I can’t wait for this record to come out. I think we’re on the edge of a new sound.”

Wow. When did Lanois start taking Bono’s crazy pills? Seriously awesome.

Well, I certainly see where the Sufi-type influence comes in on that Canadian TV clip!

I find it strange that Bono has actually not started hyping this album up yet. I mean, there’s been no “The Edge is on fire,” or “This is gonna be a real guitar record,” or “I think we’ll have a new album by the end of 2006.” I’m very pleased, and hearing it come from someone else makes me happy and want to beleive it more. :-)

You’ve just got to love those Canadians, eh? Glasses, beards, hair that’s an homage to Florence Henderson.

I like the clapping and the harmony on the U2 snippet, but it’s not like others aren’t doing clapping and harmony, such as Feist on her new album. More proof needed.

Lol, Bono’s crazy pills… I’m going to start using that phrase now.
