I was a dork and had a sign that said "I want Adam for my birthday" he came over to me and I was like 'Bono it's my birthday'(duh) and he held out his arms to give me a hug and said "Happy Birthday" and I snuck a kiss on the cheek. (Oh my god my mouth was on Bono!!! Adam your next : ) I am born again!!! I met Bono on my 32nd Birthday. I was a dork and had a sign that said “I want Adam for my birthday”

A friend and I traveled north from North Carolina with tickets to the VH-1 event from a third friend. Bono heard that two clowns drove all the way from NC. After the show, we waited outside with others. He came up to us, assuming we wanted autographs. We said, "oh we don't want autographs. We just want to say thank you. We're in a band and we're inspired by your music." He was gracious; he'd probably heard that a million times. But he asked us about our band and where we play. "Oh," he says. "You're the guys who came up from North Carolina. You did that just for this?" And, trying to avoid being stereotyped as lame fans--which we were--we told him that we have friends in New York and that we were always up for a road trip. My friend says, "and i wanted to see you during pop, but your tv screen broke and you canceled the show." (u2 did cancel the show in Raleigh due to "equipment malfunction". Bono, clearly embarrassed, says, "Yeah, we need to get that thing fixed." And before you know it, we're talking to him about our band, the daybreakers. "Cool name," he says. And if others hadn't demanded autographs, it seemed as if Bono would've taken us next door for a Guinness. I met him (and Edge) prior to a concert in Houston on the Vertigo tour. Yes, other people were around, but he stopped and talked with each one of us. One of his many gifts is how special he makes everyone feel. Love the interaction with the baby - precious!
