#GetWellBono: U2 Fans Worldwide Send Video Wishes to Bono

This is really cool. U2 fans from around the world have shared brief video messages to let Bono know that they’re (we’re) thinking about him, praying for him, and hoping he recovers fully and quickly from that awful bike accident last month.

@U2 was one of many fan sites around the world to help spread news about the video project, but U2 fan Paulo Vetri did all the hard work — collecting, editing, and creating the final video. He’s just let us know that it’s done, so have a look:

Isn’t that cool? Congrats Paulo on the excellent video you’ve made, and to all the fans who contributed — well done.

    Hey Bono –
Sorry to hear about your accident – hope you’re healing and getting better every day. I had a similar accident on a scooter (except I collided with a tree – long story) years ago and broke my humerus bone in my right arm, along with other injuries. I just wanted to tell you – if you have radial nerve damage, be patient and the feeling and movement will eventually return. I tried acupuncture along with physical therapy, and after months of both, I eventuality regained full use of my arm. Hang in there and stay strong!

To Bono and the band, first want to wish Bono a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see the band this summer in Toronto in July!! I have been to 10 shows across Canada and in the US including Las Vegas!!! Bono and I share the same birthdate and I have a strong connection to many of the songs new and old. Hope to meet you some day Bono and wish you Good Health so that you can keep up your important work around the world particularly in Africa!!!!! SEE YOU IN JULY!

I was distressed to learn about your injuries.

You, and the band, have been an inspiration to me since the early 80s. Your work in Africa has inspired me in so many ways it is impossible to list. “One” on its own has inspired many students at Cornell University, where I work, to get involved in many projects in Sub-Saharan Africa (especially Zambia, my second home) and elsewhere.

I hope you are back rocking soon!
