The good folks at Ireland’s Hot Press magazine are hoping for some help from the U2 fan community to get a project called the Irish Music Photo Archive (IMPA) to happen.
IMPA wants to create a permanent collection of photography of every Irish artist going back to the beginnings of rock music (including U2, obviously), and has applied for financial support from the Arthur Guinness Projects, a philanthropic fund that supports creative endeavors.
But they need public support in the form of online votes to show the Guinness folks that this is something they should fund. Other projects have been collecting votes since June, but IMPA only got started earlier this month — so it has some catching up to do.
You can vote for the IMPA here, and you can vote once every day. There are only about 10 days left to vote.
Note: You’ll need an account to vote. You can either sign-in with your Facebook account, or you can create a new account on the Guinness Projects website.

So have they issued a position on copyright? Does everything get signed over to them (and then what happens to profits)? Or is it open access?
