It’s Hard To Keep Up Sometimes
Being a regular contributor to @U2, it’s hard to keep up with email - especially when I have about 20 email addresses between my volunteer work here on the site, family email, business email, volunteer organizations and such. I haven’t checked my U2.com email account for quite a while now (about 3 months to be exact). Today I log on to find waiting for me 2,801 emails in my “in” box - all of which are junk. There’s nothing worse than seeing an email account that only allows you to view 16 messages at a time and you can’t delete all in one go - you have to delete all per screen. So, that’s 175 screens with an average of 10 seconds per screen of deletion time. If my math’s right, that’s approximately 30 minutes to delete nothing but junk mail.
For all of the U2.com subscribers who regularly access email - is there an easier way to do this? And, do you know if Fanfire has any spam controls built into their email product? This is ridiculous!

I have the same thing ALL the time. If someone can figure it out, let me know!!!
I’m sorry to say that there isn’t.
I only keep my U2.com email address because it’s U2rules@ but because Fanfire doesn’t let us forward our email (even though all my other 30 email addresses go straight to my gmail address) it makes it basically a useless novelty
they have filters you can create that are useless and usually just crash my browser.
I just came back from spring break and went through the U2.com email deletion process but the website crashed a few times just to add to the fun!
I hope that as Bono said “we want to make our website better” they really do something about the email, because I just stopped giving my U2.com email address out anymore, even though it’s my favorite one!
I have always been a U2 Fan since their debut and I am linked to Bono as an African for what he is trying to achieve, but one think I would like to say to my Friends is be Yourself You do not need to make Covers. You are The U2.

Actually U2.com is switching email systems as I write this, some accounts have already moved over to the new system, some are in the process, so this issue should be a moot point
YAY!!
It SHOULD be a moot point… if only I could login to the new system, sadly I get the familiar “We are experiencing technical difficulties, please check back.” using both IE and Firefox!
It is sad that the error page is the one I see the most on U2.com
I hope that their new Horde mail system lets us forward our mail so that I never have to see that error page again!
(and yes, I realize this is sour grapes, but it is over 3 years of sour grapes condensed into 1 post!)

I do not know if you have tried this, but try erasing your cookies on a consistent basis. While logged into U2.com go to MY HOME, then scroll down and you will see COOKIES, click there and erase. Log out, log back in, and see if it works.
Good luck
Baja
sadly, Baja… I tried all that and I still get the error page.
but hey… it’s only been 4 days, I’m sure they are working on it and I will be able to use my @U2.com email again soon!
(I look forward to all the SPAM that will have flooded my new-and-improved inbox!)
what? I’m not bitter!

Check the U2.com global announcement on the webmail. Solutions there.
Also, send the complaint in to fanfire, zootops have been getting the issue fixed after emailing them, and no you do not need to change your username
Baja
Thanks Baja… after changing my password, I was able to log in!
ok… I have to give props when it’s due… they FINALLY fixed the email problem.
Their new webserver is kinda crappy, but I’ll never see it again because I was able to forward it to my gmail address (like I have been doing all along with all my other emails, even my yahoo ones!)
That is all I ever asked… don’t try to give me anything more… your SPAM filter won’t be as good as gmail, now I can send and check my U2.com email from gmail and I am happy again!
it only took 4 years!
Thanks U2.com… here’s hoping you will remedy the fan presale ticket problems
and thanks again Baja!
