Larry Mullen, Movie Star?
A blog from the town of Orangeville, Canada reported late last week that a movie was being filmed on location there with actor Donald Sutherland. Big deal, right?
What caught my attention was the detail that a co-star of Mr. Sutherland’s is none other than U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr.
I wouldn’t have believed it unless they provided a photo, but they did on this page (scroll to page 4 to see a smiling Larry). I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of his new facial hair, but I’m intrigued at the thought of staring at him on the big screen doing something other than playing drums.
I always thought his appearance in the “Electrical Storm” video would open doors…

Agreed! The facial hair is not a good look for Larry, never had been. Hopefullly he’ll shave before the tour starts. But it will be amazing to watch him in a movie! Any idea how big his role is?
I’ happy for lary!
He’s playing a guy who comes to a small town to knock off a bank, opposite Donald Sutherland who plays a professor who lives there and they meet. Apparently they then each begin to wish they’d lived each other’s lives. The location shooting here in Orangeville wrapped up yesterday; no word on when the film might be released. Cheers!
Nice, i will see the movie for sure. But it takes away from U2. All this side projects. They should call it quits. It is not exciting anymore. I mean, come on.
