Neil McCormick Still Thinks U2 are the Best
Telegraph music critic Neil McCormick has a perspective on the band that few people have: he grew up with them. He watched them develop from kids who played in a group at his school to the most successful rock band of our time.
He’s a musician too—one who desired to be a part of U2, then later sought their support for his own band. But life didn’t go in that direction for Neil.
Instead he became the successful writer that he is today, and despite the past differences in their musical success, he maintained a warm relationship with his old mates from Dublin.
Earlier in the week, Neil attended the U2 show in Rome, which closed out the European leg of the tour. Read in his blog why he claims U2 are still the “greatest band in the world.”
I think he makes a compelling case.
