The Joy of Sachs

Last night’s Inaugural Daniel Patrick Moynihan Lecture by Bono and Harvard Professor Jeffrey Sachs at the Skirball Center on the campus of New York University challenged every mind in the sold-out theater. It’ll be a few more days until I pull together the story for @U2, but I wanted to share with you the photos from the event. The set can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/atu2com/sets/1084409/ .

The headline was really from Bono and it’s been used as much as the “funky pontiff” line he’s used. Credit’s given to Bono.

even lines you’ve heard a million times before are somehow WAY funnier when you hear bono tell them in person. he also made a joke about sachs’ rock star economist persona, and the fact that not many economists have kids out on the sidewalk scalping tickets to their lectures. it was an entertaining and inspiring evening.
