We give U2.com a hard time every now and then when things don’t seem to be the way they should, and we try to give props when they do.
Here’s one for the latter category: huge props for a very cool, 360-degree, 5-billion pixel “fancam” image from Sunday’s night’s concert in Johannesburg.

It’s interactive — you can zoom in and around the whole stadium from your vantage point behind Larry’s drumkit. And all those little icons you see are fans tagging themselves in the photo.
Very, very cool. Nice job, U2.com.

It’s nice of U2.com to host this pic, but it’s not their doing. A South African company - http://www.fan-cam.com/- has been pioneering this kind of thing in recent years. This was only done because the shows are in SA.
