U2 Makes Good Movie Music, Says Cinematical
Batman Forever may not be remembered as the best installment of that film franchise, but it did rock a wonderful soundtrack.
That’s the sentiment behind Jessica Barnes’ recent post on Cinematical.com, where she cites “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me” as the inspiration for creating her list.
She notes five tunes that were far superior to the films they were written for. Can you think of any?

Herpost is entitled ‘good music from bad movies’. If you want that and a U2 song, surely “Gangs of New York” tops the list. For such a great ensemble, I thought it was a terrible movie, but the Hands that Built America was a great song.
Soundtracks of Armageddon and Godzilla. Great great songs and big hits, but shit movies. Gangs of Newyork was pretty good imo, mainly cause of Daniel Day-Lewis. A obvious candidate,, though, would be The Million Dollar Hotel… *dodges*
The Edge & Michael Brooks featuring Larry Mullen, Jr and an unsigned Sinead O’Connor on the Captive OMPS. I listen to this 2-3 times per week (to fall asleep).
October “dance remix” on the They Call It An Accident OMPS (why wasn’t this on the remastered October delux CD?)
