U2 Groupie, Lars Ulrich
Metallica’s Lars Ulrich professed is love for U2 during an interview with Australia’s Faster Louder this week, stating “I’m, like, the hugest U2 fan — I would borderline call myself a groupie, actually,” Lars can be heard saying during the interview. “Playing with U2… I would f**king play on the parking lot. They’re one of the only other bands that are still functioning after 30 years, just like we are, and I feel a lot of kinship in what they do and I just really admire and appreciate… They’re really inspiring to me. I love their music, I love their way of reinventing themselves, and I love their way or thinking big and small. And it sort of works on all levels.”

It’s always interesting to hear other musicians’ thoughts on fans and fan access. How I wish U2′s drummer would be so loquacious!

My best friend is a long time Metallica fan — he’s a drummer, so obviously he’s a big Lars fan too. He takes endless pleasure in making fun of my U2 obsession. Vengeance is mine!!! Hahahahahahah! I’m texting him the first quote from the blog above….
“Vengeance is mine!!!” That’s hilarious!
I’m guessing this will cause some consternation among fans of “old” Metallica that have never been on board with “new” Metallica.
Hey I’m probably the Biggest U2 and Metallica fan combined on the face of the planet. I’ve been petitioning on metallica’s fan club board on PPM. Alot of Metallica fans don’t want it to happen but I do. When I was at U2 Croke Park instead of the 5 night stand in Copenhagen Metallica did news broke out of Metallica and U2 together. I was right and everyone had to submit! Now I’m not allowed to mention U2 on PPM, since its a Metallica website. What an excuse. Metallic did blow U2 off the stage at the MSG show Rock N Roll 25th anniversary concert no question about it if you there live in person. Petition for a U2/Metallica tour 2016-2018. Both use the same carpenters and crew throughout the world. U2′s production manager worked for Metallica back in the 90′s. Its the perfect tour. The Biggest Co-Headline Tour of ALL TIME! 2 hours of Metal featuring Metallica playing only 2 albums And Justice for All & The Black Album, and U2 Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby! LiveNation get on it!
I heard James Hetfield heard beautiful day as he left rehab and loved it, cherished the song
